American lightweight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has taken to social media to shut down all the haters who have on several occasions faulted her for being an arrogant personality.
The fighter, who has over the years amassed several prestigious accolades including being a six-time winner of the Best Fighter ESPY Award (2007–2010, 2012–2014), took to his lucrative Instagram page to explain to fans why he decided to take up such an egotistic demeanor.

A quick look at his Instagram reveals Mayweather’s lifestyle is one most people would only fathom in their dreams.
From flying in his own private jet to flaunting tonnes of money, the boxer can easily make an insecure fan seriously question their existence.

However, as the former boxer who is now a high profile promoter would have it, things have not always been rosy for him.
Like any typical success story, Mayweather insisted he has earned the right to have a massive ego which oozes in the manner in which he flaunts his unmatchable wealth.
In a post seen by TUKO.co.ke, the boxer – one of the most lucrative pay-per-view attractions of all time – claims he also came from the bottom as is the case with most success stories.
“Before the jets, yachts, Bugatti’s etc., I was always on my grind. I fought my way from poverty to the top; I am often scrutinised for being cocky or arrogant, but I have every right to be! “ his post read.

According to Mayweather, his vast wealth was a result of pure hard work, contrary to what a section of fans tend to believe.

“We now live in a world where everyone wants instant gratification. I worked extremely hard my entire life, retired undefeated, made great investments, and I deserve to live an incredible lifestyle,” he went on.
In the foreground of boxing over the last ten or so years, he has dominated headlines both on and off the ring, but it is his statements in press conferences that have often raised questions about his character.
The boxer has often openly discredited his own opponents, with one of his more infamous rants being against Manny Pacquiao whom he used cursive language on while expressing confidence that he would beat the Filipino.
