Luo nation is home to some of the finest music talents in the country, but it has been a dark spell in the last couple of months as several musicians have exited the stage before their time. First, it was Ohangla musician Abenny Jachiga, followed by Omondi Long Lilo and before fans could finish mourning those two Lady Maureen passed on. Queen Lady Maureen or the Queen of Ohangla as she was famously known was a rare gem on the Kenyan music scene producing great hits such as Alemo, Jogi Jokuoge, Gor Kogallo and Raila.
A true goddess by definition, Lady Maureen not only entertained but also followed the sacred commandments of her people. She created songs that praised the Luo way of life, was an ardent supporter of Gor Mahia and she was a great fan of Raila Odinga. Many of the things she accomplished did not matter in her last days as she died in a poor state and with family disagreements.

Very few well-wishers led by Akothee supported her in her last days, and then death snatched her as she was recuperating. The mysterious disagreement she had with her mother was a burden on their relationship and hopefully with her daughter having died all that will be in the past.
