Former TV news anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga has mourned her beloved mother, Hon Zainab Kalekye Chidzuga, who was a politician and died at 65.

The celebrity posted a touching tribute on her social media, celebrating her late mother and the milestones she achieved during her tenure as a politician.

She was born 65 years ago in 1956. Throughout her life, she was a champion of community-centred empowerment with an unashamed bias to women and youth.”
The media personality also mentioned that her mother served in the National Assembly between 2013 and 2017 as a County Member of Parliament representing Kwale county.
According to Chidzuga, during her tenure in Parliament, she steadfastly championed the revival of rural economies, advanced the economic empowerment of the least advantaged in society, especially the youth, women and people living with disabilities.

Chidzuga’s mother died on August 12 after falling ill in July. She is survived by seven children and 22 grandchildren.
Chidzuga’s brother confirms mom’s death
Earlier TUKO.co.ke reported that the former Kwale Woman Representative is dead after the journalist’s brother confirmed the development.
Chidzuga passed away at Reliance Hospital in Nairobi’s South C area, where she had been receiving treatment for COVID-19.
Deputy President William Ruto mourned Chidzuga as a selfless leader who dedicated her time to serving Kwale residents in various capacities.
The late was elected on the ODM party ticket and became the first Kwale county woman MP in the 2013 General Election.
