An old phrase states behind every successful man is a strong woman, and perhaps, looking back at the life of the late Tanzania president John Magufuli and the phenomenal woman who stood by him, it is no surprise that he rose from being a teacher to a holder of the highest office in the East African nation.
The 61-year-old Janet Magufuli is the woman who captured the late head of state’s heart and with whom they brought eight wonderful children into the world.

The two lovers learnt early on in their union to keep their affairs from public scrutiny, but reports indicate they tied the knot in Dar es Salaam in a simple ceremony.
A couple of years ago, the Magufuli recalled that he had neither a suit not ring on his wedding day.
“Again, the day I got married, the priest bought me a ring, and he bought us a soda, and I drank Pepsi, my partner drank Mirinda. Unlike the usual marriages, I did not wear a jacket, and my wife did not wear a shawl, but we got married,” The Standard reported.
Primary school teacher
Janeth was a primary school teacher at Mbuyuni Primary School, where her predecessor, former First Lady of Tanzania Salma Kikwete, also taught.
She taught Geography, History and ICT studies at the school.
It is also worthy to note that the late head of state was also a teacher before joining politics.
